Larry Karnowski grew up on rock n' roll and only recently
fell in love with traditional Americana music. Having tinkered
with many different instruments all his life, he decided
to pick up and concentrate on the fiddle during a Hot Club
of Cowtown house concert in Durham a few years ago. Ever
since then he's been absorbing Bluegrass, Country, Celtic,
Stringband, and any other sort of acoustic music he can
get his hands on, especially if there's a fiddle in it!
His favorite influences are Kenny Baker, Whiskeytown, Tim
O'Brien, Old Crow Medicine Show, Elana Fremerman, Heidi
Andrade, and especially his fiddle teacher and friend, Jan
Johannson.
